Problems Are A Part of Life by Bernard Smalls

I've told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you'll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world." John 16: 33 Word Translation

Problems are a part of life as the late Norman Vincent Peale once said. I said that once to a young lady who responded; I AM VERY ALIVE THEN!!!

The enemy cannot sustain his attack on you forever if you learn to count it joy when problems arise. The Bible says weeping may endure for a night, but joys comes in the morning!

...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30: 5

Weeping only endures for a period, because Satan cannot sustain his attack if you choose to walk in joy. Night is symbolic of the dark time in your life or the time or season of trouble. Have you ever gone through a season where it seemed like everything just kept going wrong? Where you felt like TROUBLE MAN as Marvin Gaye sang? During this time people will fail you. They will quit you for no apparent reason! During this time, people that you need the most will drop you like you are a hot potato! I have seen that over and over in ministry. When you launch the biggest projects, order the new equipment and so forth, people will often get mad and stop giving. I used to ask God don't they care that I am sticking out my neck to reach the world. One day I sensed in my spirit God answering; NO! The Bible calls this time of trouble the evil day.

Ephesians 6: 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm...

JOY IS A SPIRITUAL FORCE
Joy is not happiness. Happiness is a mental force, joy is a spiritual force. Learn to face your problems with joy!

2 Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. 3 Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. 4 But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing. James 1: 2-4 Amplified Bible

When you really understand how to handle problems, you will see that your problem is your opportunity. I like the Chinese definition of crisis. It means danger yet opportunity. There is a negative and a positive reaction to every problem. In every adversity (problems) is the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.

Managing Problems Effectively
1) Understand and exercise Patience!
Patience is a virtue - if you endure.
It is not a virtue - If you sit back and wait for your problem to solve itself
Patience means constancy - stay consistent during times of trouble!

2) Nobody is defeated until he starts blaming somebody else
Don't blame others!
Don't blame God!
Don't blame yourself!

3) Get Smart - and then get Smarter-
Illuminate-
Re-tool-
Re-educate yourself (up-grade your education and skills)

"Problems are a part of life, the more problems you have the more life you have." Norman Vincent Peale
